Muhammad Yunus, PhD
Professor Yunus was awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to use microfinance as an instrument in the struggle against poverty. Through his groundbreaking Grameen Bank and its small micro-credit loans, Professor Yunus has managed to translate his vision of lifting individuals out of poverty into practical action, benefiting the lives of millions of people worldwide. His inspiring life story is a testimony to the power of ideas.
